Baofeng UV-5R Portable Rechargeable Walkie Talkie (5-8km) Highlights

• Dual Band VHF/UHF Operation: The Baofeng UV-5R is known for its ability to transmit and receive on both VHF (136-174 MHz) and UHF (400-520 MHz) frequency bands. This dual-band capability allows for greater flexibility in communication and access to a wider range of frequencies.
• Programmable Memory Channels: This model typically features a significant number of programmable memory channels. This allows users to store frequently used frequencies, repeater settings, and other parameters for quick and easy access.
• Rechargeable Li-ion Battery: The UV-5R is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, which provides a decent operating time between charges. Battery life can vary based on usage intensity and power settings.
• Built-in FM Radio Receiver: In addition to its two-way radio functions, the Baofeng UV-5R often includes a built-in FM radio receiver. This allows users to listen to broadcast radio stations when not actively communicating.
• Customizable CTCSS/DCS Tones: It supports CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) and DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) tones. These sub-audible tones help filter out unwanted transmissions from other users on the same frequency.
