FAT Box SC/UPC 1x8 Outdoor PLC Splitter Highlights
- Fiber Optic Splitter: This device splits a single fiber optic input into eight separate outputs. It's commonly used in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks to distribute signals to multiple subscribers.
- PLC Technology: Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) splitters offer excellent optical performance and reliability. They are known for their low insertion loss and minimal polarization dependent loss.
- SC/UPC Connectors: SC/UPC connectors are a standard type of fiber optic connector. The UPC (Ultra Physical Contact) polish provides a better return loss compared to older PC polishes.
- Outdoor Rated Enclosure: The 'FAT Box' designation typically indicates a robust, weather-resistant enclosure designed for outdoor deployment. This protects the internal components from environmental factors.
- 1000 Mbps Max LAN Speed: While the splitter itself is passive and doesn't have a 'LAN speed', the network equipment it connects to is designed to support Gigabit Ethernet speeds (up to 1000 Mbps).
